I passed my final exams, only 3 days after my dad passed by.
I believe he was there and helped me as I was holding my presentation.
Presentation result: 2 “gut” / A (87%)
Total result: 3 “befriedigend” / B

Looking for a nice new job

Greetings.

I’m looking for a job as software developer, preferally in either the gaming area or in web development.
If you cover both, that would just be perfect.

I can and already did write Applications in PHP4 & 5 + mySQL, c# + mySQL/MSSQL/Access, Delphi, C++, Lua.
My strongest languages there are PHP and Delphi.
WinAPI knowledge is present as well as a decent feeling for software security.
In my freetime I used to work voluntarily for various companys all over the world, checking games and websites for security holes and gave advice to make things better. I can disassemble and analyze / partially optimize Win32 Applications in TASM using OllyDBG (freeware). I do consider myself a whitehat hacker, I never search for security holes for malicious pruposes.
I speak fluent german and english, also I understand a little bit dutch.
Currently, I’m living in germany. However, if the offer is good enough, I’d consider moving to West Europe, Japan or the USA.
I do not wish to work in small offices with less than 8 coworkers.

I’m ready to start in July 2009.

When I just added a new category for the twitter plugin, I ran into the problem, that the front page of my blog shows all entries.
I only want them to be displayed when the specific category is being clicked on.

A quick solution for this is to set an URL-Rewrite rule on empty URL (.htaccess):

RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^$ /index.php?cat=1 [QSA,L]

TomTom review

Today I was able to give TomTom a try with a friend’s HTC Herald (same model as mine).
I tested it with my scooter on the way to the IT academy.
The GPS Receiver I used: “JUST MOBILE (R)” (external bluetooth GPS receiver).
First off, I’ve configured it to a max speed of 40km/h, avoid highways, shortest way.
Then I’ve entered the target address (IT academy).
The path given looked well, however it tried to send me anywhere but where I wanted to:
- told me to “turn right now”. There was a field, but no crossing for the next 2 kilometers.
- at 11 crossings (that I had to stop at), it told me to “turn arround when possible”
- it sent me on a street limited to 100km/h while the shorter way through the town (50 km/h) would have been absolutely fine since I configured it to a max speed of 40 km/h anyway.
- in targetted town, it sent me wrong several times, also told me to drive on closed company ground of mercedes.
- almost there, it told me to turn left and drive 100 meters, then i’d be at my goal. the goal was 100 meters to the right though.
- finally arrived and parked, it told me to turn arround and then turn left.

He told me he has no problems with TomTom, however it totally failed my test.

I didn’t drive through any tunnels and the weather was clear. TomTom constantly displayed it was connected to 7~9 satelittes so I doubt the connection was interrupted. I especially wonder why TomTom told me to turn arround, everytime I stopped at a crossing.

VISA introduces PIN encoded creditcard

This new creditcard has an embedded display and 12 buttons.
You type in a specific code, the card verifies it and generates a TAN.
This is to prevent your credit card number from being compromised.
In 2009 there will be some first test runs in various european countries.

America voted, and it voted for change.
With twice as much electoral votes than McCain, Obama became president today.
It may seem like a big difference, but actually Barrack Obama only won with 52% against John McCain with 47%.
Revolutionary: By this election, the 44th president of the United States of America is the FIRST African-American president in the USA.
